Rules and Important Information for BTC
Age
BTC welcomes students aged between 13 (sometimes 12) and 19, or older.
Times
Each day begins at 9 o'clock. The day finishes about 5 0'clock.
Location
The BTC Television Centre is at St Andrew's College, on the corner of Papanui and Normans Road Merivale Christchurch.
Enter from Normans Road and follow the signs.
Smoking, Alcohol, Drugs
Absolutely not. There's no place on BTC for any sort of mind altering substance. St Andrew's is a non smoking campus.
Medical matters
If you have any sort of condition we need to know. We have ready access to medical help.
General discipline
We have fun. We treat ourselves and you as professionals in the industry. We use industry standards of behaviour and
industry terms and ethics. We support each other and try to be positive at all times. We work in a school and accept
the high standards set by the school. We expect you to arrive on time each day.
Food
Lunches and snacks are provided. If you have special food requirements, please tell us.
Money
BTC is amazing value, but is expensive to run. Costs are shown on the registration form.
Boarders
Yes you can stay with us. We have around 60 beds in our excellent St Andrew's College boarding houses.
Evening meals are dealt with on a daily basis. Boarders work with the Boarding Manager to buy takeaways, go to a cafe.
Bring some money for evening meals. Boarders must conform to house rules, and may not go out without proper book-out procedures.
Staff must know where students are at all times. We do not accept boarding on Saturday night at the end of the course.
